1) Some documentaries worth seeing
2) Thoughts on the life of Mattie J.T. Stepanek (1990-2004)
3) Some poems by Mattie J.T. Stepanek

1) This month I saw three documentaries well worth seeing.

First, Supersize Me was super funny as well as being very serious. Morgan Spurlock, the writer, and producer of this film uses himself as a guinea pig to see what will happen if he eats McDonald's food for 30 days straight. Half way through the experiment the medical doctors who had been monitoring his health begged him to stop the experiment for his own safety. Most of us in the raw food movement, of course, have already realized the dangers of factory food, but this film is a great eye opener to take your disbelieving relatives to see.

Second, Fahrenheit 9/11, is one of Michael Moore's best. While you may not reach the same conclusions that he implies, all the facts presented are indisputably taken from public footage and sources.

Third, The Corporation, is a mini-education in two hours. It outlines the way that the Corporation came into being and later came to acquire almost all the legal rights and status of a "person" in our Constitution. It documents the many ways corporations have damaged communities, individuals, the environment, freedom, and also distorted information, all of which have been mostly hidden from general public knowledge. An extremely adept connection is made between the way corporations are mandated to act and the medical diagnosis of a psychopath. This is a must see film.

These films will also soon be available on videotape and/or DVD.

2) Thoughts on the life of Mattie J.T. Stepanek (1990-2004)

I first became introduced to the work of Mattie J.T. Stepanek a few years ago when I received a delightful book of his poems for my birthday. Thereafter whenever I wanted to bring a smile to my day, I'd pick up the much-fingered book for a quick read. I became a devoted admirer when I learned that Mattie had started writing poetry at the age of 3. Yes, 3 years old! His mother would write the poems down for him. I also learned that Mattie suffered from a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy and had lost three siblings to the disease. Larry King recently repeated a show he had done with Mattie and it was clear to see that Mattie was every bit the peacemaker that he claimed to be. A loving, thoughtful, hopeful, amazingly advanced soul sent to tug at our heartstrings and remind us of our innate humanity. Mattie was convinced that peace in this world is a choice that we make and he had the courage - this plucky little boy - to audaciously suggest that Bush had a bad attitude for not choosing peace (see poem below). Larry King was unabashedly moved by his interview with Mattie.

Mattie was no doubt in the genius category when it came to his emotional, spiritual and intellectual development. I watched that interview on Larry King with my mouth hanging open most of the time. Had Mattie survived a while longer, I could only hope there would have come a time that he would have had more enlightenment in the area of healthful natural alternatives, or at least adjuncts, to his medical treatments, which had failed to help his three siblings and ultimately failed to help him survive for more than his short 13 years. Being born into a family that was completely under the care of the established medical system (the allopaths) I can understand how it would be difficult to question the status quo. On the Larry King show Mattie was very grateful to Jerry Lewis and his efforts to find a cure for Muscular Dystrophy through the charity that he fronts.

It is possible, of course, that there may be no help currently available through natural healing systems, to heal, or appreciably benefit sufferers of Muscular Dystrophy--possible--but highly improbable. You can't find what you are not looking for and as far as I know, the Muscular Dystrophy Association has not put any funds into researching natural or alternative treatments. They have come up with some pretty good adaptive equipment though - but I think that after 54 years of being in business and all the millions of dollars they have collected, they could come up with more than a sophisticated wheelchair! This equipment is good and necessary, but we dare to ask for something more substantial…

Mattie needed oxygen. He benefited greatly from receiving it. What might have happened had he been on a raw/live food diet that provides oxygen at every meal in addition to all the other nutrients it supplies? What might have happened had he been on natural forms of nutritional supplementation instead of drugs - nutritional supplements that specifically support the function of nerves, glands and muscles? What might have happened if he had had regular sessions in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, drunk wheatgrass juice, had acupuncture, chiropractic, homeopathy, etc.?

These are questions that we'll never know the answer to, but if the Muscular Dystrophy Association would fulfill it's mandate, we could have the answers for others who suffer from the many neuromuscular diseases known collectively as Muscular Dystrophy. Do you think that will ever happen? One small thing you could do is to write to MDA and ask them to put funds into research of natural systems, such as the ones I mentioned above.

One ongoing study: Royal Jelly for Muscular Dystrophy and Atrophy: http://www.rocein.gr/royalcells

Thank you Mattie for all you've taught me, for your incredible vision. I love you, and I'll see you again through life's other door. God bless you.

3) Some Poems by Mattie J.T. Stepanek

Dear Mr. Bush,

You said we are caught between terrorism and hopelessness.
You said we cannot find peace in this situation.
I caught your words, but I cannot agree with the conclusion.
Clearly, we cannot perpetuate terrorism,
But perhaps, if we choose to accept hopelessness with a catch,
We will find peace in all situations.
Hope, or lack of hope, is an attitude.
And an attitude is a choice.
In this great country, we do have a choice.
And so, in conclusion, we cannot get caught with a bad attitude,
Or we are not choosing peace.

Flowing Thoughtfulness

When one person is thoughtful to another, the thoughtfulness gets carried on and on.
It is like a river of kindness, once blocked by rocks,
That is suddenly opened by a single person's kind thought or act.
The river runs freely again, and continues to flow,
Moving more rocks and reaching the hearts of others.

When one person is thoughtful to another the thoughtfulness gets carried on and on.
The more we get together and help each other,
The more friendship there can be throughout many different places.
The friendship can begin like a small stream in a single neighborhood.
And then expand throughout a river of districts, states, countries, and even continents.

When one person is thoughtful to another, the thoughtfulness gets carried on and on.
Soon, we could have a whole ocean of friendships, and that's how the world was created
And how it should always be.

*********************

In the beginning, love was created and it was good.
Yet, as it is with all things, love is a choice.
In the now, a bond is created, and it is good.
Yet, as it is with all things, a bond is a choice.
In each tomorrow, the future will be created, and it can be good.
Yet, as it is with all things, the future is a choice.
As the love of yesterday binds the present into a touch towards every tomorrow,
Do not vow to renew your choices on your first, your fifth, or your fiftieth anniversary,
Rather, from this moment go forth vowing.
Go forth vowing to choose gently, celebrating life each day.
Go forth vowing to choose wisely, playing after every storm.
Go forth vowing to choose fervently, never giving up hope in things that matter.
Then, as it was in the beginning, and, as it is now,
Yet, it will be in the future...
Blessed with choices, and good.

Stubbling Sadness

If my mommy died, I would be so sad.
I would lock myself in my room for a very long time,
And not talk to anyone.
Then, I would come out, get over it,
And learn to shave off all the stubble I grew.

Dear Rhio,

S. & I have healed several cases of MD and MS. Two cases hadn't walked in years...one thirteen years, the other nine years. We often thought of trying to reach Mattie's mother, however, I realized she was too ensconced in the allopathic medical paradigm and Mattie was a public figure. We would never have been allowed to touch him. S. & I are sure that she's poisoned with some chemical or heavy metal..usually mercury that her body passed down to her children and they died from the toxicity. All disease is the result of over acidity of the blood and tissues....no matter what it is....from negative thinking...to polio, asthma, ms, cancer schizophrenia..The trick is to find what the overacidity is coming from. Mercury usually creates these diseases such as Mattie had..that's been our experience.....Mattie was an angel...I have thought of getting in touch with his mother to try and save her...However she too is surrounded with the medical paradigm....We cannot put ourselves out there to expose what we do. We have helped many many hundreds of very sick people with every disease known. However we only take people that are referred to us directly by other's who have been helped or friends....So Mattie taught us all something about Peace and suffering. He was a brilliant example of how to live life graciously.

Dear Rhio,

Although I love the idea of raw energy. I must totally disagree on your Fahrenheit 9/11 review. The footage may be public, but it has been used in a way to make propaganda. Just one instance is when the socialist Micheal Moore goes to the congressmen who voted for the war and ask them if they would sign there children up for the military. One of these congressmen actually replied that it was not his choice to send his son, but if his son were to join he would support him one hundred precent. Then went on to say that he actually had a nephew who was in Iraq at that very moment. That part was never shown in the "film"

Micheal Moore is a propagandist who distorts the truth so everyone can see his twisted point of view. If you want to see a refute of the film go to Theslate.com(It think that is it).

But like I said I love the concept of raw energy and if I could afford you recipe book I would.

thank you

Joe

Dear Joe,

Well, at least you didn't remove yourself from my elist because you disagreed with my opinion and that gives you an ok in my book because we are living now in an age of intolerance to people expressing their ideas which smacks of fascism.

Only certain opinions, like those voiced on Fox, seem to be acceptable to the corporate owned media. If you express yourself honestly - which last time I looked we were still living in the purported "land of the free" speech, then you get your financial legs cut off.

For example, The Dixie Chicks had their CDs pulled from the monopoly owned Clear Channel Stations playlist, Baseball Hall of Fame cancelled the 15th anniversary celebration of the film Bull Durham because of Tim Robbin's anti-war stance, Linda Rondstadt was escorted out of the Aladdin Hotel yesterday, Disney tried to keep Fahrenheit from opening, Whoopi Goldberg can't tell a Bush joke. . . without losing her job. These things are done deliberately by corporations with too much power... to set an example so that other less courageous people simply shut up.

Our society should be open enough so that we can have lively and open political or any kind of discussions but at the end of the day, we can still co-exist harmoniously.

So the point that Moore was making in the example you mentioned is that the rich really don't have their children in this war. There may be a few exceptions of course, but most of the recruits come from the poor and middle classes - that statistic is on the record. If there was more to the footage, I would have loved to see it, but I don't think it would have changed the statistics of who is fighting this war. And really the point was that of all the hundreds of legislators who voted for the war, only one of them actually has a son fighting in the war.

Moore's film won the Palme d'Or, the highest honor at the Cannes Film festival, the first time a documentary has won in the category. Like it or not, millions of people both in and out of the US believe at least some of what they saw in this film.

I tried that website you mentioned but nothing comes up. I have heard that there is someone making a documentary called Michael Moore Hates America. Is that what it is about?

I'm glad we can agree on the concept of raw energy. You shouldn't be deprived of reading my book for lack of funds, so if you will let me know the name and address of the nearest library to you, I will donate a book to that library.

With blessings and peace,

Rhio

7/21/04

Dear Rhio,

Thanks for responding so quickly I was actually amazed.

I am sorry I can't remember the web site. I will ask my friend, and get back to you. And it is not the
"Micheal Moore hates America" Movie. That is first I have ever heard of it. But, if that movie is being
made I would totally disagree with it also. The fact being that Micheal Moore could go anywhere else in
the world, make that same film and not make nearly the same money.

What is crazy to me is that Moore is making millions of dollars off this movie and still wants America to
be a socialist country. This country was made great by people who worked for every cent they recieved.
The people who abuse (notice I say abuse) such programs as well-fare, foodstamps and other government
programs are what is making this country go down the toilet.

I do agree with you that Fox is slanted to the right of the political spectrum, but you must also admit
that stations like CNN, MSN and MSNBC are slanted to the left.

I see myself more in the middle. I have a lot of friends and family in the military and everyone that has been in Iraq has comeback and said we are doing nothing but good over there. They were an oppressed people who needed to be saved from the touture, raping and murdering. I know you hear a lot about the death toll over there, but go back and actually compare the numbers to conflicts such as Vietnam or go back as far as the
World Wars if you like. The numbers will shock you. I do also have my liberal side. Being mostly of do with your body what you will. That is why I am an Full Contact fighter.

Well I am really glad you wrote back it made my day. If you were serious about donating a book to my local
library send it to:

Leach Public Library

Wahpeton, ND 58075

Thank you

Rhio,

AS USUAL BRAVA!! BRAVA!!! BRAVA!!!! ON EVERYTHING IN YOUR EMAIL

I was introduced to Mattie via Oprah Winfrey's show (she featured him a lot) and since I have not been watching for quite a few months now, I did not know he had made his transition - when??

You and I seem to be so on the same page -

I do not give to AIDS research, the so called battle (what an offensive term!) on cancer, MS, etc.- as I do not understand with all the millions $ raised why the same areas are supposedly being researched. To me, research means broadening one's limited perspective, going outside the box, and looking at other modalities, cultural norms and going to the roots. How misguided we have become!! Not many generations ago, we looked to the earth and all she supplies for healing-if only this country would honour its native peoples and return to their traditions-then it would have so much to share with the rest of the world, other than its bombs and rhetoric.

Yes I agree with the list of movies and so commend you for informing those who are wanting to know more-I suggest one other film (a documentary) "What the #**Bleep Do We Know." It is so refreshing knowing there is someone like you in the NYC area.
...

a tremendous amount of love and gratitude is being sent to you,

dorit
