For those of you who have been praying and holding good thoughts for Dr. Jennifer Daniels, whose license to practice medicine in the State of New York was suspended two years ago, THANK YOU. Our prayers have been answered.

The courts of New York State have ruled that the Health Department (OPMC) acted unlawfully when it suspended Dr. Daniels' license to practice medicine in New York State. As of June 12, 2003 the suspension has been lifted.

This doesn't mean all is resolved. Dr. Daniels' business has been ruined. Prior to the suspension, Dr. Daniels ran her own clinic in a minority area of Syracuse, providing much needed services for that community. That clinic was closed down. I hope there is a way that the Dr. can sue for compensation, so that she might reopen her clinic. I'll report on that next time after I talk to the doctor.

Much work on our part needs to be done to assure that medical, as well as alternative doctors, can practice according to their belief and conscience, so that patients are allowed to receive the therapies of their choice.

On my website's Links section, I've recently put up a new heading for Physician Organizations. Some of these organizations are fighting for the right of all alternative health practitioners to practice without interference from allopathic medical ideas or judgement. As far as alternative doctors are concerned, the chiropractors are the most organized. They fought long and hard for their right to exist. The naturopaths and other holistic practitioners need to carve out for themselves a niche as strong as the chiropractors have achieved and we can help them secure their unimpeded right to exist. Firemen, Rescue Workers, nearby residents or workers in the vicinity of the WTC and all those whose health has been negatively affected by the pollution unleashed when the WTC buildings came down are being offered help to relieve their symptoms and to cleanse their bodies from the heavy metals and other contaminants that were absorbed. The privately funded organization offering the help is called HealthMed.

The Purification Program that they offer was devised, many years ago, by L. Ron Hubbard, founder of the Church of Scientology. The HealthMed program is secular, however, and you do not have to be a scientologist to participate. You just have to have a need. The cost is free, under the circumstances first mentioned above. If you are in a position to pay, donations are welcomed, so that they may continue to offer the program to others in need. The first facility to open to provide this service to those affected by the WTC pollution is on Fulton Street, near Broadway and was built by the actor, Tom Cruise, who reportedly lost two very dear friends in the WTC tragedy. Other facilities are being planned for Long Island and Upstate, NY, where many of the rescue workers live.

In New York City and other cities, the Purification Program is also available and offered by the Church of Scientology at nominal cost.

There have been numerous reports of sick and incapacitated firemen and rescue workers being returned to health after going through the Purification Program.

The Purification Program process, in brief, consists of the following daily program for three to four or more weeks, depending on the individual:

a) A one time physical examination by a medical doctor to make sure you are a candidate. An IQ test, personality test and some other tests are given. Some of these latter tests will be repeated at the conclusion of the program so as to compare for improvements.

b) 20 to 30 minutes on a bicycle or treadmill to get your circulation going after ingesting powdered niacin in juice. The niacin dosage is adjusted upwards at intervals.

c) After exercising, you spend 2 to 4 1/2 hours in the sauna everyday. Of course you can go out at intervals to take cool showers and rest a bit.

d) A specified quantity of mixed good quality oils are taken at the end of each session to induce the body to release it's dirty fat. Most (not all) toxins are stored in the fat tissues. The Program causes the body to release some of the dirty fat into the blood stream. The theory is that if new, clean fat is not supplied, the body will reabsorb the old dirty fat.

e) Nutritional supports are given while going through the program because just as the body loses toxins through sweating in the sauna, it will also lose vitamins, minerals and electrolytes. Salt and potassium tablets are to be taken at intervals while you are in the sauna.

f) A key component of the program is to watch for, and report to your guidance coach, symptoms of detoxification, which are called "manifestations." We in the health community know about those detox symptoms very well, as many of us have done, or do, periodic fasting or juice fasting.

A book by L. Ron Hubbard that explains the whole process is called Clear Body, Clear Mind.

Leigh and I have now qualified for and begun this Purification Program and I'll report on our progress in a future hotline.

The baby's natural mother is a smoker and cannot provide the milk and raw organic unpasteurized goat's milk is not working well. The breast milk banks pasteurize and sterilize the milk before freezing it. They have a good screening process for diseases, but they are taking the "life" out of the milk, says Tamera.

If there is some healthy Mom out there that is willing to help Tamera and her husband, Michael, they in turn, are also willing to provide her (the Mom) with good nutritional supplements such as E3Live and enzymes as part of the arrangement.

Rep. Rush Holt of NJ Introduces Legislation to Require All Voting Machines
To Produce A Voter-Verified Paper Trail

Washington, DC – Rep. Rush Holt today responded to the growing chorus of concern from election reform specialists and computer security experts about the integrity of future elections by introducing reform legislation, The Voter Confidence and Increased Accessibility Act of 2003 (HR 2239).

The measure would require all voting machines to produce an actual paper record by 2004 that voters can view to check the accuracy of their votes and that election officials can use to verify votes in the event of a computer malfunction, hacking, or other irregularity. Experts often refer to this paper record as a "voter-verified paper trail."

"We cannot afford nor can we permit another major assault on the integrity of the American electoral process," said Rep. Rush Holt. "Imagine it’s Election Day 2004. You enter your local polling place and go to cast your vote on a brand new 'touch screen' voting machine. The screen says your vote has been counted. As you exit the voting booth, however, you begin to wonder. How do I know if the machine actually recorded my vote? The fact is, you don’t."

Last October, Congress passed the Help America Vote Act (HAVA), groundbreaking election reform legislation that is currently helping states throughout the country replace antiquated and unreliable punch card and butterfly ballot voting systems. HAVA, however, is having an unintended consequence. It is fueling a rush by states and localities to purchase computer-voting systems that suffer from a serious flaw; voters and election officials have no way of knowing whether the computers are counting votes properly. Hundreds of nationally renowned computer scientists, including internationally renowned expert David Dill of Stanford University, consider a voter-verified paper trial to be a critical safeguard for the accuracy, integrity and security of computer-assisted elections.

"Voting should not be an act of blind faith. It should be an act of record," said Rep Rush Holt. "But current law does nothing to protect the integrity of our elections against computer malfunction, computer hackers, or any other potential irregularities."

There have already been several examples of computer error in elections. In the 2002 election, brand new computer voting systems used in Florida lost over 100,000 votes due to a software error. Errors and irregularities were also reported in New Jersey, Missouri, Georgia, Texas, and at least 10 other states.

"A recount requires that there be a reliable record to check," said Holt. "Without an actual paper record that each voter can confidentially inspect, faulty or hacked computer systems will simply spit out the same faulty or hacked result. Every vote in every election matters. We can and should do this in time for the 2004 federal election."

Key provisions of The Voter Confidence and Increased Accessibility Act of 2003 include:

1) Requires all voting systems to produce a voter-verified paper record for use in manual audits and recounts. For those using the increasingly popular ATM-like "DRE"(Direct Recording Electronic) machines, this requirement means the DRE would print a receipt that each voter would verify as accurate and deposit into a lockbox for later use in a recount. States would have until November 2003 to request additional funds to meet this requirement.

2) Bans the use of undisclosed software and wireless communications devices in voting systems.

3) Requires all voting systems to meet these requirements in time for the general election in November 2004. Jurisdictions that feel their new computer systems may not be able to meet this deadline may use an existing paper system as an interim measure (at federal expense) in the November 2004 election.

4) Requires that electronic voting system be provided for persons with disabilities by January 1, 2006 -- one year earlier than currently required by HAVA. Like the voting machines for non-disabled voters, those used by disabled voters must also provide a mechanism for voter-verification, though not necessarily a paper trail. Jurisdictions unable to meet this requirement by the deadline must give disabled voters the option to use the interim paper system with the assistance of an aide of their choosing.

5) Requires mandatory surprise recounts in 0.5% of domestic jurisdictions and 0.5% of overseas jurisdictions.
